A small cherry finds out her family has been baked into a pie and meets another cherry survivor who tells her what the woman did to their family. Then this survivor cherry plots to kill the woman and the small cherry wants to help, but then the woman appears and snatches him, leaving the small cherry helplessly alone. She then decides to grab a toothpick and save the cherry by stabbing the woman’s finger causing her to overreact and die. The two cherries feel victorious and plan to avenge their family by eating the woman.

Directed by Joshua A Garcia, Cherry Pie, Die! leans on a strong ensemble — Will Neal, Natalie Rarick, Joshua A Garcia — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about animation titles of 2024.
