Three thieves steal a million liras from the Lebanese National Bank, but one of them decides to escape from his colleagues and take the money alone. He is chased twice by the police to arrest him, and by his colleagues to kill him and recover the money. On his escape journey, he meets a beautiful girl who changes his life and asks him to repent and return the money.
Directed by Niazi Mostafa, Sareq Al-Malyeen leans on a strong ensemble — Farid Shawqy, Nabila Obeid, Adel Adham — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1968.
