“Lena” tells a story of a young, pregnant girl who lives in a Warsaw’s tenement. Tired of being constantly left alone in her flat, she develops paranoia: she starts hearing someone breaking in and sees words written on the mirror telling her to abort the child.
Directed by Jędrzej Gorski, Lena leans on a strong ensemble — Weronika Humaj, Bartosz Sak, Olga Miłaszewska — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about thriller titles of 2019.
