The film revolves around a servant who wins the lottery ticket and forgets where the money is because he hid it while under the influence of alcohol. His master falls into financial distress and the servant tries to remember where he is. At the same time, a singer enters their lives and falls in love with the servant.
Directed by Kamel El Telmessani, El Primo leans on a strong ensemble — Bishara Wakim, Mahmoud Shoukoko, Ferdoos Mohamed — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1947.
