Acting Out

Suspended from high school because of her continued lewd outbursts, Skye is forced to undertake therapy – but this isn't the first time. ACTING OUT tells of the experiences of a young woman dealing with issues of intimacy and a fear of relationships as a result of family problems that led to the separation of her parents. It's these issues that drive her to 'act out' as she craves attention from her self-absorbed mother and those around her, yet places a wall between herself and the outside world.

Directed by Danny Merton, Acting Out leans on a strong ensemble — Sam Atwell, Lara Cox, Gregory Caine — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2007.
