Eyvalah

The pleasant voice of "Nemat," a young man from Ahvaz, causes "Jamshid," the owner of a cabaret in Tehran, to gain popularity and wealth. However, when Nemat tries to use his talent for his own benefit, Jamshid, who has suffered losses, seeks revenge by trying to marry Ameneh by giving money to her father. But Ameneh, who is in love with Nemat, throws herself into the river and commits suicide, and Jamshid falls into the claws of justice.

Directed by Manouchehr Nozari, Eyvalah leans on a strong ensemble — Nematollah Aghasi, Simin Ghaffari, Lili — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1971.
