Love in the Strangest Way

Successful Julien sees his family off on holiday and at once becomes drawn into a risky relationship with Angela, whom he spies outside the cafe opposite his office. When he later finds she is to become his son's new nanny he rightly starts to worry there is more to the relationship than he bargained for.

Directed by Christopher Frank, Love in the Strangest Way leans on a strong ensemble — Thierry Lhermitte, Maruschka Detmers, Nadia Farès — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about thriller titles of 1994.
