Maki and Satomi are a pair of housewives who are clumsy with their hands. One day, Maki's closet door is broken, so Satomi sends her husband, Yoshihiko, to help fix it. This leads to a closer relationship between the two, and on the second repair, they finally cross the line.
Directed by Akira Obuchi, Wives On The Edge Of Cliff 3 leans on a strong ensemble — Maki Tomoda, Riri Kouda, Yumi Kazama — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2010.
