About Overlord: Bloodline of Brutality IV
In order to fulfill the fate and great cause of placing his sworn brother, Kiyoharu Washio (Kazuyoshi Ozawa), who had been buried in the darkness until now, as the 12th generation leader of the Naito Shinjuku family, Yuki Kanemaru (Masaya Kato) covered the office with flames and ultimately met his end in self-immolation. Just as he passes away, former 12th generation underling, Hideyoshi Ogami (Norimasa Fujie), is released after serving a long prison sentence. This leads the Naito Shinjuku family into a three-way struggle: Toki Reiji (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) and his faction who support Taiga Washio (Haruto Ochiai) as the 13th generation, the faction led by Akira Shiba (Kunihiko Ida) who seeks to put Seiharu in power and rewrite history, and Ogami’s faction. Finally, the president of the Osaka Namba-kai, Masami Yukimura (Takashi Ukaji), reveals himself, and the story is about to connect to a new bloodline!
Directed by Kazuyoshi Ozawa, Overlord: Bloodline of Brutality IV leans on a strong ensemble — Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi, 落合晴音, Yasukaze Motomiya — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 2017.
