About Chikan to nozoki: Onna kachô no shiseikatsu
Since Kumiko was appointed as a section manager, KS Corporation has been doing well. Because of this, the company president, Sano, seems small in front of Kumiko. One night, on her way home, Kumiko notices a man following her, and she takes him into a public toilet and indulges in lewd acts. In the middle of this, she sees someone peeking at her through the mirror. Kumiko leaves as if nothing happened, but inside she is not at peace. The next day, it is the man she had been peeking at, Yuta, who comes to her company interview.
Directed by Satoru Kobayashi, Chikan to nozoki: Onna kachô no shiseikatsu leans on a strong ensemble — Aoi Mary the Third, Shoichi Shirato, Yūichi Minato — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1996.
