In 2000, Satan, the messenger of hell, is tasked with destroying the savior of the earth. However, he is a natural lover, and ends up being late for a meow meow with a witch, and the devil is actually not good with women, so it's a complete mess.
Directed by Mototsugu Watanabe, Mari wa tenshi no nioi leans on a strong ensemble — Yukijiro Hotaru, Jun Matsuda, Kyôko Akiyoshi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1985.
