About The Coin
Carlo is a bum who suffers from recurrent nightmares. He lives by the rule of the coin, tossing the very same coin over and over again to take every single decision of his life. Coin toss after coin toss, he arrives in L'Aquila, a city hit by an earthquake. Here he becomes involved in a gruesome murder case. With the help of Marta, an alcoholic woman he met on the road, he starts an investigation which will soon have a metaphysical perspective.
Directed by Emiliano Dante, The Coin leans on a strong ensemble — Piotr Hanzelewicz, Tiziana Tarantelli, Danil Aceto — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 2025.
