About Husn Aur Ishq
Swash buckling, and daring Ashiq Hussain is a caring and helpful person. He meets with the Shehzadi Ruksana and both fall in love with each other. But the emperor and the country's Vazir-e-Azam have set a few conditions that Ashiq must fulfill before he can even think of marrying the Shehzadi. He must recover the bring to the emperor a precious stone, and for that he will have to go through monsters, evil magicians, and strange lands, that no mortal has ever gone through nor survived to live and tell the tale.
Directed by Naresh Kumar, Husn Aur Ishq leans on a strong ensemble — Sanjeev Kumar, L. Vijayalakshmi, Indira — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about fantasy titles of 1966.
