Gwendolyn Green

Inspired by true events, this is the story of Gwendolyn Green, an aging widow who spends her days in solitude inside a fenced-in Palm Springs residence, as if trapped in another era. When her lack of social skills and isolation begin to suffocate her, she picks up the phone and calls 911 in search of human connection. Gwendolyn forms a special bond with the officer who answers, and finds in him the care and connection to the modern world that she craves.

Directed by Tamyka Smith, Gwendolyn Green leans on a strong ensemble — Roberta Maxwell, Dominic Rains, Ricky Reidling — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2017.
