About The Man I Love
In the distant city of Blagoveshchensk, a father and his two sons, Rodka and Kostya, live together. After graduating from college, Kostya works as a surgeon and suffocates from the "greyness" of others, and 15-year-old Rodka suffers from the inability to help people. One day, a young woman appears in their house, whom Kostya brings.
Directed by Yuli Karasik, The Man I Love leans on a strong ensemble — Georgi Zhzhyonov, Yevgeni Gerasimov, Nikolai Merzlikin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1966.
