About The Aruak and the Con Artist
An aging employee constantly deceives everyone around him: clients, his boss, his wife, and his children. But at some point, it becomes too much, and they decide to punish him. A spirit named Aruak starts following his every move, teaching him to speak his native Kazakh language, interfering in all his affairs, constantly commenting on everything, and putting the deceiver into the most awkward situations.
Directed by Ravil Trumov, The Aruak and the Con Artist leans on a strong ensemble — Kumar Lukmanov, Gulnara Silbayeva, Bakhitzhan Alpeisov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2024.
