The first secretary of the city party committee's house was filled with his colleagues: the head of the construction department, the deputy manager of the bank, a journalist, an ambulance doctor, and the head of the police department - in short, those who were responsible for the city's survival. And, of course, the reason for their gathering was the same: how to protect the city from a natural disaster?

Directed by Giga Lortkipanidze, In a Small Town leans on a strong ensemble — Tristan Kvelaidze, Ketevan Kiknadze, Merab Ninidze — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1985.
