Transbalt

The “Transbalt“ vessel is to deliver a cargo of salt to Far Eastern fishermen who have made increased commitments. The crew makes a counter-commitment to provide the fishermen with salt ahead of schedule. But on the way to Vladivostok, one of the ship's boilers explodes. A storm begins. Overcoming incredible difficulties, the crew completes the task. 

Directed by Miron Bilinskiy, Transbalt leans on a strong ensemble — Borys Bezhin, Ivan Kapralov, Serhii Minin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1930.
