Ayuko Tsujikura is a female college student who is seriously searching for "true love". Not only is she having an affair with Ezaki, an assistant professor at the university, but she is also dating three men at the same time: medical student Kazuhiko Odagiri and unsuccessful actor Shunichi Nakagawa. However, to Ayuko, she is in a serious relationship with each of them. Ayuko's best friend from university, Megumi, accuses Ayuko of being a villain, but Ayuko doesn't get it.
Directed by Yutaka Ikejima, Joshi daisei: Ushiro karatsuki agete leans on a strong ensemble — Yuyu Okazaki, Ryuji Yamamoto, Sumire Kusahara — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1993.
