
Luca, Anna, and Mirko, longtime friends, usually spend their holidays at Luca’s grandparents’ house in Sardinia. Over time, Luca realizes he’s in love with Mirko but, due to past experiences, struggles to express his feelings for fear that his friend might pull away and end their friendship. Tired of feeling miserable, Luca confides in Anna, who encourages him to open up and stop letting the past dictate his actions. Luca confronts his fears and confesses his love to Mirko, who, although he doesn’t feel the same, proves to be a loyal friend.
Directed by Gabriele Massidda, Caffè e cannella leans on a strong ensemble — Mirko Lorusso, Michele Favaro, Francesca Turbini — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
