
Chusa shares a flat in central Madrid with her cousin Jaime and her lover Alberto. The group makes ends meet by smuggling and selling drugs from Morocco. They take in a naive young woman, Elena, and decide to include her in their next scheme although this will prove complicated.
Directed by Fernando Colomo, Going Down in Morocco leans on a strong ensemble — Verónica Forqué, Antonio Banderas, Juan Echanove — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1989.
