Murata is a man who lives a makeshift, self-indulgent life. He manages to make ends meet by getting Chihiro, who has come to stay with him, to take on customers, but he has fallen behind on his rent and his landlord, Taeko, is forcing him to move out. Then, a couple moves into the apartment, forcing Murata into an unexpected sexual situation....

Directed by Takeshi Furusawa, Killer Tenant leans on a strong ensemble — Yukine Sakuragi, Tsubaki Kato, Waka Misono — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about horror titles of 2020.
