Three people who have lost their hearts. Futami is young man working in a book cafe who has lost his girlfriend. Amamiya is a radio DJ who has lost his wife. Shizuna is a woman with a puzzling memory disorder and suicidal thoughts. A mysterious woman named Tsuta, who travels with nothing but T-shirts, appears before these three. Tsuta acts cheerfully, yet there is an aura of death about her, and she behaves as if she has known them for a long time. Eventually, the three will confront their own lives and deaths.
Directed by Tomomi Muraguchi, HOLD UP MORNING leans on a strong ensemble — Tsukasa, Yousuke Nomura, Shuna Iijima — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2026.
