The Be2gether music and arts festival in Lithuania was the first open-air festival of its kind in the Baltic states. With the slogan "Music opens borders," the event encouraged people to come together regardless of their nationality, cultural, social, or religious differences. Surrounded by the Belarusian border and closely monitored by the Lithuanian and Belarusian security services, the festival brought together thousands of music lovers from different countries to the meadows of Norviliškis Castle for four years.
Directed by Martynas Starkus, Jonas Banys, Jonas Juozapaitis, Be2gether leans on a strong ensemble — Andrius Mamontovas, Arnoldas Lukošius, Giedrius Klimkevičius — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about documentary titles of 2008.
