The migrant crisis is in full swing, and the Balkans is an inevitable stop on the journey of emigrants to Europe. Mirko, a Serb by nationality, extremely sensitive about religious and national tolerance, receives an offer he cannot refuse that would solve his financial problems. On Easter, he gets a call to transport migrants to the next border. He decides, at least apparently, to put aside his convictions and do the job.
Directed by Sara Kolar, Kids Don't Pay leans on a strong ensemble — Aleksandar Dimitrijević, Antonio Scarpa, Benžamin Dinić — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2024.
