About The Fonziegang
16-year-old Mikael is the gang leader of the infamous Fonzie gang that wreaked havoc in Stockholm in 1980. He shares a home with his mother, who is a taxi driver by profession. She is completely unaware of what her son does in the evenings. One day, he is picked up by the police right in front of her eyes and their lives change forever.
Directed by Dimitrios Solarides, The Fonziegang leans on a strong ensemble — Tomas Fryk, Anki Lidén, Kjell Bergqvist — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1982.
