About Nights at the Temple
A sacrifice must be offered to the "Great Idol." Beautiful girls are kidnapped from everywhere and sacrificed in the temple; one of the victims is Mary. An hour before her life ends, an angel comes to Mary's aid. With the angel's help and the efforts of her fiancé, who finds his way into the temple searching for her, she destroys the Great Idol and its devilish custodian.
Directed by Nasser Kourechian, Nights at the Temple leans on a strong ensemble — Nasser Kourechian, Mohammad Abdi, Ali Komeili — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1954.
