About Shahin Toos
Shahin, fed up with the oppression and injustice of the Caliph's agents against his compatriots, is tasked by Tahir Dhul-Yaminayn, a supporter of Ma'mun, to go to Baghdad and, with the help of Iranians, fight against the Caliph. At the same time, Shahin learns that the Caliph's agents have set fire to an Iranian village where his cousin and fiancée, Shahrzad, and her brother, Behzad, live, taking them captive to the Caliph's court. Shahin sets off for Baghdad and, after some struggles, frees them both.
Directed by Karim Fakoor, Shahin Toos leans on a strong ensemble — Hossein Daneshvar, Hosein Amirfazli, Koorosh Kooshan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1954.
