On a sweltering summer morning, just as Wei-Han was heading out for delivery run, he discovered that the fridge had broken down—all of his girlfriend Chia-Lin’s ice pops had melted. Chia-Lin called the landlord, insisting that he replace the old fridge with a new one, but Wei-Han didn’t want to escalate the situation. The two began to argue in their cramped rooftop room.
Directed by Yang Yao-jhen, The Fridge leans on a strong ensemble — Hu Jhih-ciang, Patricia Yang, Tsai Tsung-yu — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
