Fatjona

Because she regrets that she has been given up her child for adoption, a young woman sets out to find her now six-year-old daughter. When she finds the girl again, she cannot bear the fact that her daughter does not recognize her, and so she makes a momentous decision.

Directed by Steve Bache, Fatjona leans on a strong ensemble — Johanna Kolberg, Lotta Herzog, Kaya Marie Möller — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2022.
