About Body Fund Woman: Betrayal
Rinko was enjoying happy days with her boyfriend, Hiroshi. But then her father suddenly attempted suicide. Apparently, his company had a debt of 20 million yen, and he was struggling to repay it. The repayment deadline was in three days. It was an amount that Rinko, an office worker, could not possibly pay. Her boyfriend, Hiroshi, also left her, and Rinko was at a loss when she received a call from Sakaki, an acquaintance of her father. Sakaki claimed to know a way to get a large sum of money in two or three days. However, that offer was the beginning of Rinko's hellish life.
Directed by Takaaki Ezura, Body Fund Woman: Betrayal leans on a strong ensemble — Rio Hamasaki, Hideyuki Arai — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2011.
