Yuko's lover, Takeo, dies in the womb during an affair, and his wife kicks her out of their apartment. Left homeless, she is picked up by Niyama, the president of a printing company, who comes to deliver flyers, and begins working for him as a live-in employee.
Directed by Daikei Shimizu, Onedari, tachimachi, dosukebe zanmai leans on a strong ensemble — Reno Aihara, Mai Imai, Kyoko Nakamura — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2019.
