Returned from Paris

The newlyweds' return is met with two incidents: first, the groom's uncle returns from a trip to Paris, and then a woman is brought into the house by the servant for a romantic encounter. With the arrival of the bride, groom, and uncle, the servant hides the woman. This woman plays an important role in the family because the uncle's ex-wife was the groom's lover. The uncle and the groom find out about the affair one after the other, and numerous events unfold.

Directed by Henrik Stepanian, Returned from Paris leans on a strong ensemble — Mohsen Farid, Mohammad Ali Sakhi, Homayoon — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1959.
