About The Woman With The Mont Blanc
Reiko, a mother of one, spends her days commuting between her home and the convenience store where she works part-time. However, there is one thing that bothers her: a worker who always buys a Mont Blanc cake with his lunch. Her coworkers have come to call him "Mont Blanc-san," and one day, she sees him being assaulted by a group of people on the riverbank and rescues him.
Directed by Hidekazu Takahara, The Woman With The Mont Blanc leans on a strong ensemble — Saki Okuda, Kana Suzuna, Eri Kato — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2020.
