About Roasted Duck
"Changiz" is looking to trap rich and talented people. One of the prey is a man named "Nusrat" whom Changiz gradually prepares the ground for taking over his wealth by placing a woman named "Ghazal" in his path. At the last moment, Ghazal, who has become infatuated with Nusrat, refuses to cooperate. Changiz introduces another woman named "Sharareh" into the scene, but this time she is also unsuccessful and Nusrat returns to her quiet life.
Directed by Nosratolah Vahdat, Roasted Duck leans on a strong ensemble — Nosratolah Vahdat, Shahla Riahi, Sharareh — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1961.
