Chieri Nishihara is a former office lady but is now known as "Explosive Slotter Cherry". When she learns that her younger brother Ren is addicted to slot machines and is spending his school fees on them, she wants to do something to save him but he ends up falling prey to the "Kaido Corps".
Directed by Jirō Ishikawa, Slotter Cherry the Explosion - Eat them and smile - leans on a strong ensemble — Miri Sugihara, Tomomi Aizawa — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2003.
