A sinister town boss called Pat Barnes has exploited almost everyone in the town. If they don't succumb to his demands they normally end up dead. Barnes is finally brought down by Shanghai Joe and a smooth-talking snake-oil salesman.
Directed by Bitto Albertini, Return of Shanghai Joe leans on a strong ensemble — Ernest Van-Mohr, Klaus Kinski, Tommy Polgár — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about western titles of 1975.
