About Fairytale Rus
A humorous animated series, the events of which take place in a fictional state called “Fairytale Rus”. Modern politicians from different countries appear here in the form of fairy-tale heroes familiar to every viewer from childhood. The characters of the cartoon are Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande, Vladimir Putin, Petro Poroshenko, Vitaliy Klitschko and Yulia Tymoshenko… The animated series features very sharp and accurate parodies of them. The heroes go through many adventures, trying to solve the complex problems of our time.
Directed by Dmytro Malkov, Fairytale Rus leans on a strong ensemble — Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Olexander Pikalov, Olena Kravets — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2012.
