I, a Woman

Liv is a frankly sexual being. She finds herself in a series of sexual relationships with men who, she says, fall too much in love with her and become oppressive. Finally she meets a man who is very much like her, but that brings its own problems.

Directed by Mac Ahlberg, I, a Woman leans on a strong ensemble — Essy Persson, Preben Mahrt, Jørgen Reenberg — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1965.
