About The Girl Next Door
Based on a true story. Annie Nolan is saved from domestic violence by Officer Craig Mitchell. Craig wants to be with Annie, and manipulates her into falling in love with him. He then persuades her to kill his wife, Wendy so that he does not have to go through the inconveniences of a divorce.
Directed by David Greene, The Girl Next Door leans on a strong ensemble — Tracey Gold, Tom Irwin, Sharon Gless — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about tv movie titles of 1998.
