Three high school girls spending their final summer in the drama club. A woman who longs for the sounds of the town and tries to stop time. The sounds of everyday life they create are gentle and quiet, yet the sounds that flow there exist only in that town, and they are also sounds that stir everyone’s memories.

Directed by Ryo Katayama, Cadence leans on a strong ensemble — Tamaki Kubose, Utano Aoi, Shiori Ueno — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2026.
