Young women are kidnapped and held prisoner at a remote slave labor camp in the jungle, where they're forced to don skimpy outfits while trying to fend off lecherous guards, a whip-wielding lez warden and other types usually found in this kind of movie. There's torture, botched escapes, attempted rapes, etc. leading up to the obligatory break-out conclusion.
Directed by Sarawut Wutthichai, Virgins in the Tiger Cage leans on a strong ensemble — Tanit Pongmanoon, Wallop Suksomboon, Patcharanee Rapeeporn — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1984.
