The TV movie "Escape" shows the agony of "white" officers, soldiers and citizens who fled before the October Revolution, pursued by the power of the Red Army, but also by the blood of their own crimes. Composed in several "pictures", it is a kind of ballad about madness and despair, the battle for bare life, but also an elegy about exile, crime and punishment.
Directed by Zdravko Šotra, The Flight leans on a strong ensemble — Neda Spasojević, Stevo Žigon, Ratko Sarić — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about tv movie titles of 1968.
