One night in Beijing, two apparently unconnected stories unfold. These stories are based on true facts: Tong's girlfriend has been kidnapped and the man, who doesn't want to pay the ransom, hires a private investigator to help him find her. Yue and Hui have been locked up at home and forced to have sex with the many clients all night long.
Directed by Pan Jianlin, Good Morning Beijing leans on a strong ensemble — Sun Peng, Chen Nanxuan, Ben Hui — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2004.
