
Part-time worker Hazuki lives with her younger sister, high school student Koharu, and their mother Sawa. One day they receive word that their estranged father is on his deathbed, so Sawa asks Hazuki and Koharu to visit him and take one last photo to remember him by.
Directed by Ryota Nakano, Capturing Dad leans on a strong ensemble — Makiko Watanabe, Elisa Yanagi, Nanoka Matsubara — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2013.
