In this Educational Pictures short, the boss' secretary is in love with the boss' son and they are planning on getting married. But before this, they plan on having the boss over for dinner to meet her mother. Unfortunately, earlier on that same day, the father and mother have a nasty altercation...not realizing who the other person is.
Directed by Harry Edwards, Leave It to Dad leans on a strong ensemble — George Bickel, Jane Dale, Fern Emmett — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1933.
