About Konbini muhô chitai: Hitozuma o kare
The store manager's eyes, fixed on his prey, caught sight of the suspicious movements of a married woman. The woman, who appeared to be of high class, left the store, and the manager called out to her and led her to his office... Shoplifting due to marital stress is a never-ending problem. The manager, having found the woman's weakness, cleverly lured her to a love hotel and unleashed his desires upon the married woman's body.
Directed by Minoru Kunizawa, Konbini muhô chitai: Hitozuma o kare leans on a strong ensemble — Ai Narita, Sumire Kawano, Motoko Sasaki — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2009.
