About Ban Tae Girl
Navin (Sombat), a development officer, is sent to develop Ban Tae subdistrict in northern Thailand. He meets Kamphu (Suthisa) and they fall in love. One day, Navin receives an official letter ordering him to return to Bangkok and is forced to marry Orapin (Yaowaret), a woman his mother has chosen for him. Time passes, and Kamphu and his friends from Ban Tae decide to travel to Bangkok to find Navin.
Directed by Huan Rattanam, Ban Tae Girl leans on a strong ensemble — Sombat Metanee, Suthisa Phatthanut, Prachuap Rerkamdeeduan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1968.
