About Zendegie Varoone
A young man from Tehran, who has lost money in gambling, decides to commit suicide while traveling to Isfahan. An Isfahan man saves him. Both of them, who are well-off, decide to find a job and a decent life for themselves, and they do just that. The young man meets a girl and marries her, but soon becomes involved in gambling and gamblers. This time, the Isfahan man comes to his aid and his family and helps him return to a normal life.
Directed by Nosratolah Vahdat, Zendegie Varoone leans on a strong ensemble — Nosratolah Vahdat, Kamyab Kasravi, Ali Miri — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1971.
