In the late Republican era, strange incidents occurred frequently in a mist-shrouded mountain village deep within Changbai Mountain. A villager named Chen Gouzi encountered a mysterious bride and took her in. Soon after, he suddenly became wealthy, only to die under bizarre circumstances. A series of deaths that followed plunged the village into fear. Veteran hunter Ma Sanye led the villagers in their search for the truth, navigating between supernatural rumors and the treachery of human hearts. As they dug deeper, hidden secrets and the tangled forces of good and evil in the mountain forest gradually came to light.
Directed by Zhang Jiahao, Legend of the Changbai Mountain Hunter 2 leans on a strong ensemble — Yue Dongfeng, Wang Shuangbao, An Jianlin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about fantasy titles of 2026.
